“It was a magical moment for Canadian designer Rad Hourani and his guests as he presented his fall 2013 unisex haute couture collection at the garden of the residence of the Canadian ambassador to France last week.

The maverick designer, who made history last season as the first Canadian invited to show in Paris by the Chambre syndicale de la haute couture, showed 22 outfits in black and white.

“It was the Rad Hourani DNA,’’ he said on the phone from his gallery-studio in Paris, but more perfect, more complex and more couture, with the most luxurious fabrics he could find.”
